Artificer risk of rain 2 reddit11/29/2023 ![]() I'm just pointing out her damage isn't nearly good enough to match up with a 'burn it' sort of playstyle if you can compare her skills to Commando. Which, great, but she *shouldn't* be just betterr. It's situational, but assuming you're actually hitting the target arty would have to hit 2+ targets every time to be on par better. You can also just play Rainstorm, the game's intended difficulty that everything is balanced around, where seemingly underpowered things like carbonizer turrets are fun and effective. At that point you can maintain infinite flight and drift everywhere at a casual pace, which is as close to immortality as you can get in the game since the vast majority of enemies have no idea how to hit you if you do that. The easiest way to secure a good run is hitting lunar bazaar until Strides of Heresy appears. Hoofs and NRG are good, as are Volcanic Egg and to some extent the wings. To get a good run going with Artificer you may want to seek out items that supplement her jetpack. Artificer is similar in this regard, only her damage is already good and she has a jetpack. Commando suffers from poor speed, defense, and damage, and need items to make up for his deficiencies. If there wasn't any reason to play underpowered characters, then I don't why commando exists, let alone why the game starts you off with him. Just what I think, anyone else able to make me think different on this skill? Or am I doing something wrong with it.Survivors vary wildly in difficulty, but they also vary wildly in playstyle. And I feel like its best at applying on-hit effects which artificer lacks a lot in, which lets her use other items like leeching seed more effectively. Last point is that the Flamethrower is so good for doing general damage when you are being crowded by a bunch of enemies. Which then you just have a wasted skill spot. My third point is that you can eventually just get items that will let you use your hover in the same way, like hopoo feather and especially H3AD-5T v2. And by the time you can hit them, they are not stunned and moved away. The other thing is that I would want to use the stun from it to launch up and then shoot a Nano-Bomb back down, but you cant even look straight down so you first need to move backwards. Which can horribly off-set your positioning. And once you get hit by a wisp shot, which seem nearly impossible to dodge, you'll go flying across the map and unable to stop yourself from sliding. Whenever I jump into the air and hover around to do some damage to a boss or general enemies, I will always get crowded around by wisps. I've seen people praise it for giving artificer the thing she needs to do good, yet whenever I use it it just holds me down. And Nano-Bomb can just do the same with its bolts its shoots off when positioned correctly, while also giving a huge burst of damage in a large area while can kill tons of enemies which already tend to group up in circular clusters.īut the thing about Ion Surge that I don't understand, is how can people use this? While it can do a ton of damage with its piercing effect, the times that this comes up is very rare. I can get why you would choose to use Plasma Bolt over Flame Bolt and vice versa.Ĭast Nano-Spear seems like a downgrade to Charged Nano-Bomb. Mostly about how can people manage to use her new R, Ion Surge. ![]() Alright, I've been wondering about some of artificer's abilities.
